Cheeseburger & Pellegrino - 🍽️ THE PERMISSION TO FEEL FULL

Image
The Permission to Feel Full — Without Shame by Tonua Norice | GLP-1 Mind • Body • Spirit Reflection Let’s talk about fullness — not just the kind that comes after a good meal, but the kind that comes after a good season of living. For many of us on the GLP-1 journey , fullness used to mean guilt, control, or a sense that we did something wrong. Now, it’s time to reclaim that word. Fullness is not failure. It’s feedback. I used to eat with my shoulders tense, my breath shallow, scanning for when to stop so I wouldn’t feel “too full.” Somewhere between diet culture, trauma, and the high-achiever mindset, I learned to see hunger as weakness and fullness as shame. But through GLP-1 and mindful healing, I’ve learned something powerful — feeling full is not a mistake. It’s your body saying, “I have enough.” Food as a Mirror Food is one of our earliest mirrors. The way we eat often reflects the way we receive — love, rest, pleasure, or even help. When ...

Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino - Satiety isn’t about fullness — it’s about peace.

Image
🍔 Why Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino (and Not Salad) Because balance tastes better when it includes permission. When I first named this space Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino , I could almost hear people whisper — “Really, Tonua? Not salad?” Yes, really. Because I wanted a name that honored satisfaction and self-respect, not restriction and guilt. For too long, I measured my worth by what was on my plate. Every “clean” meal earned me a silent gold star, and every indulgence came with a side of shame. GLP-1 helped quiet that noise — not just in my appetite, but in my thinking. It reminded me that satiety is not sin. It’s self-trust. There’s something sacred about enjoying a meal — really enjoying it — without labeling it as good or bad. Cheeseburgers represent the realness of living: the cravings, the memories, the comfort, the community. Pellegrino represents the light — the sparkle, the refresh, the clear intention. Together, they became my metaphor for balance: flavor and flo...

Welcome to Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino: A GLP-1 Woman’s Diary on Balance & Becoming.

Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino exists to show that balance isn’t about clean eating or perfect routines; it’s about conscious living, self-respect, and humor through the human process of healing and evolving. Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino: A GLP-1 Woman’s Diary on Balance & Becoming. A real-life journal — reflections on food, fatigue, and feminine power by Tonua Norice. This is my unfiltered space — a living journal of what happens when your body starts rewriting its own rules in your late 40s, dares you to listen instead of fight back, and reminds you that balance isn’t about clean eating or perfect routines. Here, I write about the fatigue that feels hormonal but is really emotional, the glow that returns after forgiveness, and the way feminine power changes form when you stop forcing your body to prove anything. I chronicle the mess, the holy, the energy shifts, the little triumphs — all of it, stream-of-consciousness, real, and raw. Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino i...

Why Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino and not Salad?

Image
Cheeseburgers & Pellegrino exists to show that balance isn’t about clean eating or perfect routines; it’s about conscious living, self-respect, and humor through the human process of healing and evolving. Cheeseburger and Pellegrino?  It’s permission. Permission to feel satisfied without shame. Permission to honor cravings as part of the human experience. Permission to celebrate balance in a way that makes sense to me. And here’s the thing: I’ve learned that life isn’t about a perfect meal plan or a sterile routine. It’s about noticing what nourishes more than just your body — what nourishes your spirit, your humor, your sense of self. I write here to chronicle the mess, the holy, the energy shifts , the fatigue, the little triumphs. To show that balance isn’t clean eating or strict rules — it’s conscious living . It’s understanding that feminine power evolves with every choice, every surrender, every moment of self-respect. So, yes. Cheeseburger and Pellegrino is my...

Ancestry & the Roots of Healing on GLP-1

Image
Ancestry & the Roots of Healing  on GLP-1. I first came across Dr. Frances Cress Welsing ’s work back in college, but honestly, I dismissed it. At that time, I didn’t think it had anything to do with me. Later, when I began searching for material that truly fed me — that built my confidence and sharpened my mind — her work resurfaced, and this time, it hit differently. Dr. Welsing revealed how culture, ancestry, and systemic forces shape not only society but the patterns within us — our habits, our thoughts, our health. Her research helped me see that many of my beliefs, even the quiet limitations I put on myself, weren’t just personal. They were inherited stories passed down through generations. As I dug deeper, I noticed how family messages and cultural expectations influenced how I saw myself — how I ate, how I loved, how I protected (or overextended) my energy, and how I approached wellness. Some of those inner voices I thought were “just me” weren’t mine at all. Th...

Cultivating Balance day to day on GLP-1

Quantum Alignment on Your GLP-1 Journey Have you ever felt like your body is moving forward, but your mind and spirit are still catching up? Just feeling off, like something is missing or misunderstood. That’s exactly how I felt at the start of my GLP-1 journey. The scale was moving, sure—but deep down, I knew real transformation had to happen on the inside first. I felt like I was chasing after the real me. Strange, maybe, but hear me out. I had this idea of who I truly was: resilient, unapologetic in spirit, bold in my own mind. But in reality? I wasn’t fully speaking my truth to power . Oftentimes, I disqualified myself before anyone else even had the chance. See, this journey wasn’t just about weight or numbers—it was about healing the inherited beliefs I carried about my own power, aligning my energy with my truth, and stepping fully into the person I was meant to be. ✨ What is Quantum Alignment? Quantum Alignment goes beyond setting intentions . It’s about noticing how y...

Beyond Weight Loss: How GLP-1 Supports Mind-Body-Spirit Health in Menopause

Image
It was the eve of a big family event, and as I stood before my full-length mirror , I barely recognized myself. Sure, I wasn’t 21—or even 35—anymore—but this felt different. I felt heavy on the inside, and it showed on the outside. My clothes didn’t fit. The stylish outfits I once grabbed without a second thought were gone, replaced with pieces that could hide the parts of me I didn’t want the world to see. Even my face felt different—rounder, softer. My grandmother’s high cheekbones were still there, peeking through beneath my brown eyes, but they weren’t as sharp, as defined. Each morning, catching my reflection, I instinctively lowered my gaze, rushed through my routine, and put on a brave face. I smiled, but inside, I felt disconnected from myself. I had been doing everything “right.” Daily cardio, weig...

🧠 The Think Tank Series: Minds That Shape Healing

Image
🧠 The Think Tank Series: Minds That Shape Healing True transformation isn’t just about changing the body — it’s about awakening the mind and restoring the spirit. The Think Tank Series honors the teachers who’ve guided me through the deeper layers of healing — the parts that science begins, but soul completes. Each thinker offered me a light: Carl Jung helped me face the shadow and rewrite the stories beneath old wounds. Dr. Sigmund Freud revealed the roots of my subconscious habits and how they shape my choices. Frantz Fanon taught me to reclaim my agency and confront inherited psychological patterns. Dr. Frances Cress Welsing reminded me that healing also means confronting systemic and ancestral imprints that shape identity and behavior. Patrice Malidoma Somé reconnected me to ritual, ancestry, and the sacred energy of transformation. Michael Beckwith and Iyanla Vanzant helped me align my vibration — teaching that healing flows from self-forgiveness, spiritual practice ...

Mindful Transformation-Honoring Ancestry and Ritual

Image
Ritual ,   Ancestry & Sacred Transformation as Part of Your GLP-1 Journey Transformation isn’t just about the body. It’s about creating sacred space for mind, body, and spirit to align — guided by ritual, ancestry, and presence. My introduction to Patrice Malidoma Somé came through his book, Of Water & Spirit . His story wasn’t just intellectually deep — it was the kind of depth that feels like sitting around a fire, listening to your uncle or grandfather share stories of ancestors while children run and play nearby. I couldn’t help but imagine that I, too, had a story like that — but mine was buried in the consciousness of the many who came before me. Somé highlights African shamanic traditions , community rituals , ancestral wisdom , and spiritual initiation . He spoke about family and interconnectedness without ever having to explicitly say it — much like we describe our relationships today when we shrug and say, “It’s complicated.” His stories show how ritual, ...

Unconscious and Rewriting Old Narratives: The Battle to Lose & Gain on GLP-1

Image
Uncovering the Unconscious and Rewriting Old Narratives: The Battle to Lose & Gain on GLP-1 When I finished reflecting on Frantz Fanon ’s work, I realized that reclaiming my power meant I also had to understand what was powering me. That’s when Dr. Sigmund Freud ’s insights on the unconscious stepped forward — not as a clinical framework, but as a mirror. Freud taught that much of what drives us lies beneath awareness: buried emotions, unprocessed experiences, and the internalized scripts we carry from childhood. At first, I resisted this idea. I wanted to believe I was fully in control. But my body knew otherwise. My anxiety, cravings, and exhaustion weren’t random; they were messages — the language of my subconscious asking to be heard. Through my GLP-1 journey, I began to feel this in real time. As my body recalibrated, it made space for deeper awareness. When the appetite quieted, the inner dialogue grew louder — and I started hearing the why behind my patterns...

Facing the Shadows and Reclaiming the Whole Self

Image
Facing the Shadows and Reclaiming the Whole Self with the help of GLP-1 After exploring Freud’s world of the unconscious , I was left asking — what do I do with everything I’d uncovered? Enter Dr. Carl Jung , the thinker who gave language to the deeper work — the part where we don’t just recognize the unconscious, we befriend it. Jung taught that the “shadow” holds the parts of ourselves we’ve exiled — our anger, shame, grief, but also our creativity, intuition, and power. It’s not just darkness; it’s potential waiting to be integrated. That truth shifted everything for me. When I began my GLP-1 journey , I thought I was simply addressing physical health. But as my body found balance, I realized how much emotional weight I’d been carrying. The mirror became a truth-teller. Each pound released carried memories, emotions...

Reclaiming Agency & Psychological Liberation

Image
Reclaiming Agency & Psychological Liberation While on Your GLP-1 Path When I first began exploring my healing through GLP-1 , I realized that true transformation demanded more than physical discipline — it required reclaiming my personal power. I started reading the works of Dr. Frantz Fanon , the revolutionary psychiatrist and philosopher, and his writings opened my eyes to something deeper: liberation begins within. Fanon revealed how oppression, societal expectations, and inherited trauma shape the psyche — quietly convincing us that we are smaller than we truly are. His works, especially Black Skin, White Masks and The Wretched of the Earth , helped me see the subtle ways I had internalized limitation. They made me ask myself: Where have I surrendered my agency — not to others, but to old versions of myself? That question is powerful, especially on a GLP-1 journey. Claiming one’s health isn’t vanity — have you ever thought of it as both a political and spiritual act? ...
